Do you think Hilaria Baldwin is faking her accent?
There's some controversy on whether Hilaria Baldwin is actually Spanish or not, and it’s not clear what the truth actually is. In most interviews, Hilaria states she was born in Boston, but spent a lot of her childhood traveling to Spain to see family. However, later interviews and an online biography from her talent representatives claimed she was born and raised in Spain, but the bio has since been updated, then removed.
One older blog post by Hilaria's father notes that he is from the Midwest. He says he felt a connection to Spanish culture when he first traveled to Spain, but he claims he doesn't have "an iota of Latin blood" in him.
Most of the controversy comes from her inconsistent accent and name change. While she sometimes has a Spanish accent when she speaks, comments on old posts claim she didn't have a Spanish accent when she was growing up and she went by "Hillary." In her latest memoir, Hilaria doubled-down and explained that her accent is not fake, but it comes and goes because she's code-switching, or alternating between languages (in this case, English and Spanish).

Because she is from Boston her father wrote they don't have an iota of Spanish blood in them
