Creating weapons and armor is a huge part of the gameplay in the hit Roblox game The Forge. It doesn’t really matter which ores you use in the early game, but once you get to the second island, you’ll start mining ores that can give special traits to your weapons and armor. Understanding how to combine these will help you create more powerful (and valuable) gear. We’re here to share the best weapon and armor recipes, plus helpful crafting tips.

  1. Gauntlets are lightweight weapons that allow you to attack enemies fast. They’re a favorite with players who like to run straight into battle. Gauntlets have three variants: Ironhand (1/1 chance), Boxing Gloves (1/4 chance), and Relevator (1/16 chance).[1] You need 9 ores for the best chance of crafting a gauntlet. Here are some recipes you can try:
    • End Game—Darkryte Ironhand: 6 Darkryte, 3 Magmaite
      • Max Damage: 112
      • Multiplier: 5.87x
      • Traits: 35% chance of Explosion with 50% AoE Damage
    • End Game—Darkryte Ironhand with Burn: 3 Darkryte, 3 Magmaite, 2 Fireite, 1 Eye Ore
      • Max Damage: 100
      • Multiplier: 5.21x
      • Traits: 35% chance of Explosion with 50% AoE Damage, 19.5% chance of Burn Damage on weapons; 2.25% Weapon Damage, -1.5% Health

  2. The Katana is a nice, lightweight sword with good reach and quick speed. It’s a great all-around weapon, which is probably why you see so many players carrying them in The Forge. Katana variants include: Uchigatana (1/1 chance) and Tachi (1/2 chance). You need 12–13 ores to craft a Katana.[2] Try these Katana recipes:
    • End Game—Darkryte Uchigatana: 8–9 Darkryte, 4 Magmaite
      • Max Damage: 105
      • Multiplier: 5.87x–5.90x

      • Multiplier: 3.67x
      • Traits: 15% Weapon Damage, -10% Health, 20% Crit chance on weapons

  3. Straight Swords are fast and inexpensive. They’re not quite as powerful as the Katana, but if you can roll one of the rarer variants (especially the Chaos), you’ll have a solid weapon that will carry you through a lot of the game. [3] The Straight Sword variants are Falchion (1/1 chance), Gladius Sword (1/2 chance), Cutlass (1/4 chance), Rapier (1/8 chance), and Chaos (1/16 chance). You need 6 or 7 ores to forge a Straight Sword. Here are some recipes to try:
    • End Game—Darkryte Chaos (Keep forging until you pull this variant): 4–5 Darkryte, 2 Magmaite
      • Max Damage: 111
      • Multiplier: 5.93x
      • Traits: 32.9% chance of Explosion with 46.8% AoE Damage

  4. Colossal Swords heavy, slow, and expensive—but their power is unmatched. They’re an excellent option late in the game or if you prefer a tankier build. The variants of Colossal Swords include the Great Sword (1/1 chance), Hammer (1/2 chance), Skull Crusher (1/2 chance), Dragon Slayer (1/3 chance), and Comically Large Spoon (1/16 chance). You’ll need 40–50 ores to make these weapons.[4] Try these recipes for the best results:
    • End Game—Darkryte Great Sword: 35 Darkryte, 15 Magmaite
      • Max Damage: 283
      • Multiplier: 5.91x

You’ll need 3 ores for a Light Helmet, 10–17 for a Medium or Samurai Helmet, and 20–35 ores for a Knight or Dark Knight Helmet.[5] These recipes are for Knight Helmets—to craft a Light or Medium Helmet, reduce the amount of each ore, but keep the proportions.
    • End Game—Darkryte Knight Helmet with Speed and Burn: 9 Darkryte, 9 Lightite, 8 Demonite
      • Max Defense: 136
      • Multiplier: 5.47x

How to Make the Best Gear in The Forge

PDF download Download Article
  1. These recipes will help you get some awesome weapons, but don’t be afraid to experiment when you’re forging weapons and armor! Part of the fun of The Forge is figuring out what you can make with the ores you have on hand. These tips will help:
    • Use a 30-30-30-10 ratio of ores when forging. You can add 4 ores to the forge when you’re crafting, but you’ll only get a maximum of 3 traits. If you use a 4th ore, keep it to 10% of your total recipe so you don’t waste it.
    • Combine ores that work well together. Some ores complement each other especially well. For instance, if you’re using Uranium, which does damage based on your total Health, you can boost the effect by adding Mythril or Obsidian, which both boost Vitality.
      • Similarly, if you use Eye Ore, which increases Damage but decreases Health, you can offset it with Mythril or Obsidian on your armor.
    • Check recipe ideas in a calculator. Try a Forge Calculator like theforgecalulator.com or The Forge Calculator from BloxInformer. You can add different combinations of ores to test out what you’ll get without having to waste real ore in the game.
    • Stay focused during the minigame. When you’re forging, the finals stats of your equipment can vary a lot based on how you do during the minigame where you click on the circles. If you get a perfect score, you’ll get the max stats for your gear.
