The first step is to say your joke out loud! Try and practice your joke in front of someone, or record yourself if you can, because you’ll immediately hear where the filler words sneak in. Then cut those out. Take out extra “the’s,” unnecessary descriptions, and anything that slows it down. Think of it like drawing a straight line from point A to point B and finding the shortest path.
