In Stardew Valley, you can place furniture down in most of the open spaces. You can even turn furniture to fit your exact house or farm design needs. Here's how to rotate furniture in Stardew Valley on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, and mobile.

Things You Should Know

  1. Make sure you're standing next to where you want to place the furniture.[3]
    • PC: Left-click
    • Nintendo Switch: Y
    • Xbox: X
    • PlayStation: Square
    • Mobile: tap the item
    • If you need to move the furniture first, use the mouse, right joystick, or touch to do so.[4] [5]
  2. It's best to place furniture in a way that doesn't block players from entering rooms or using interactive items, such as chests. If you place chairs in a certain direction, your character will face accordingly when seated.[6]

    • Mobile: tap the item once
    • Some furniture cannot be rotated, such as paintings, some equipment, and other front-facing furniture.
