My Gateway NV56R14u won't reboot. It only shows the cursor. How can I fix it?

Press F8 during boot-up. Select "repair my computer" from the list. Restore your PC to an earlier date.

My laptop is trying to reboot but it ends up shutting off and trying again. It has been going on for days now, and I don't think it's going to stop. How can I get around this reboot loop?

The hard disk may be broken, or there is not enough RAM, or it could be may other things. Take it in to a computer repair shop to have them look at it.

On my gateway ne56r41u, the screen turned blued and shut down. It said something about repair mode and that was it, no more response.

You have described the blue screen of death. Try hitting the power button and F12 at same time and select start-up diagnostics.

Wait for some time and switch off the power button and switch on your laptop. Do this process 4-5 times and you will be entering to automatic diagnosis.

So I bought my Gateway brand new in 2012. I have never had an issue but it had an outage yesterday and stupid me never backed up 7 years of personal docs including 8 chapters in it. And unable to boot!
