Pokémon is a mega-popular Japanese media franchise (consisting of games, movies, TV shows, and beyond) owned by Nintendo and the video game company Game Freak. The entire franchise is set within a universe in which people exist alongside Pokémon: creatures that exist across a vast number of species, each with its own special powers.
