Determining the K-pop idols with the youngest debut ages depends on how you define “debut” and who qualifies as a K-pop “idol” (can solo artists count? Do they need to come from an agency?), so this is a bit tricky. But, we've created a list of the youngest K-pop idols below, including their band, how old they were at the time, and the year each idol debuted:
  1. Xuan (BOYSTORY) — 11 (2018)
  2. Seo Ha (Queenz Eye) — 13 (2022)
  3. Marcus Cabais (HORI7ON) — 13 (2023)
  4. Haeun (Lapillus) — 13 (2022)
  5. HyunA, Sohee, and Sunmi (Wonder Girls) — 14 (2007)
  6. Ye-on (Hearts2Hearts) — 14 (2025)
  7. Seungri (Big Bang) — 15 (2006)
  8. Max Changmin (TVXO) — 15 (2003)

There's an artist named BoA who has been called the Queen of K-pop, and I believe she was 13 when she debuted. She could almost be compared to Britney Spears in terms of rise and fandom. Taemin from SHINee debuted when he was only 14. He did not start out singing as well, but over time, he became one of their best singers. And today, he's one of the biggest solo stars in the industry.

The youngest member of BTS, Jungkook, debuted around the age of 15, I believe. Stray Kids’ youngest member was 16 when they debuted. Le Sserafim's Eunchae has also been a really popular member who debuted young, around 15 or 16 as well. And Enhypen's youngest member, Niki, was also 15 when he debuted.

Someone who debuted very young and is still in the game that comes to mind is Taemin, from the group SHINee. He debuted very young when the group debuted back in 2008 - they were a second-gen group. They’ve been around since he was an early teen, so he’s been doing this a long time and is still making music as a solo artist and with the group to this day.

There are a lot of K-pop fans who take issue with how young some idols are debuting, for a multitude of ethical and moral concerns. Some fifth-gen groups have members debuting as young as 13. Idols who debuted in older groups at a young age have gone on record to say that they debuted too young, sparking a lot of discussion among K-pop fans about what is acceptable at the moment.
