How to Crop Videos Online

This wikiHow teaches you how to use an online video editor to crop your video's physical size.

Using Video Cutter

   Go to the Video Cutter website. It's at http://online-video-cutter.com/.

   Click Open file. This is the blue button in the middle of the page. Clicking it will open the File Explorer or Finder on Windows or Mac, respectively.

   • You may first have to click Allow if prompted to run Adobe Flash on the page.
   • You can also click the Google Drive icon to upload from Google Drive, or the "URL" link to paste a video's address here.

   Select a video and click Open. This will prompt your video to begin uploading to Video Cutter.

   • You may first have to select a video location folder from the left-hand pane of the File Explorer or Finder in order to locate your video.

   Click the "Crop" button. It's the square icon in the bottom-left corner of your video's window. A dotted outline will appear on your video.

   Crop your video. To do so, click and drag one of the corners inward toward the middle of the video.

   • You can also click the middle of the crop window to drag it around the video.
   • If you want to cut down your video's length, you can click and drag one of the blue sliders at either end of the video bar in toward the middle of the bar.

   Click Cut. Its in the bottom-right corner of the page.

   Click Download. You'll see this option in the middle of the page. Doing so will save the cropped video to your computer's hard drive.

   • As with uploading a video, you can select Google Drive as a save location by clicking the Google Drive link below Download.

Using the MP3 Care Video Editor

   Go to the MP3 Care site. It's at http://www.mp3care.com/crop-video.aspx.

   Click SELECT VIDEO FILE. This blue button is at the top of the page. Clicking it will open the File Explorer or Finder on Windows or Mac, respectively.

   Select a video and click Open. This will prompt your video to begin uploading.

   • You may first have to select a video location folder from the left-hand pane of the File Explorer or Finder in order to locate your video.

   Click and drag your mouse across the area you wish to crop. As you drag the mouse, a dotted outline will appear; the area which this outline surrounds is the area that will be cropped.

   • You can resize the cropping area by clicking and dragging one of the corners or sides of the crop outline.
   • Clicking outside of the crop area will remove the crop outline from your video.

   Click CROP VIDEO ONLINE. It's the green button below your video.

   Click the Download Cropped Video File link. Doing so will open your cropped video in a new window.

   Click the downward-facing arrow. This is in the bottom-right corner of your video, though you'll have to hover your mouse over the video to make it display. After clicking the arrow, the cropped video will download to your computer.

   • You may instead have to click ⋮ in the bottom-right corner of your video, and then click Download.

  If you're new to video editing, you really can't go wrong with iMovie. It's pretty intuitive and easy to understand if you're brand new. From there, you can move on to Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro if you want more options and freedom in your editing.
