Meet the Main Trio of Percy Jackson

The Percy Jackson saga began in 2005, with the release of The Lightning Thief. The iconic series by Rick Riordan blends Greek myth with contemporary characters and has since been adapted into movies, TV series, comics, games, and other mediums. But it all began with a core trio of 3 unlikely heroes:

Percy Jackson
Percy Jackson is, of course, the main character of the series. He’s a demigod and a son of Poseidon. He’s brave, loyal, and has a solid moral compass that he relies on to steer him in a tricky world of gods and monsters. While he may not always make the right choices, he always tries to do the right thing, and he relies on his friends to tell him when he’s wrong. He’s usually the first to stand up to injustice, and he lets his heart lead him on any adventure.

Annabeth
Annabeth Chase is a demigod and a daughter of Athena. She’s smart, cunning, and headstrong, and she won’t take any funny business from anyone. People tend to be intimidated by her and the way she seems to “scan” everyone to size them up, but she’s a loyal friend and ally with a chip on her shoulder and something to prove. She’s kind-hearted, open-minded, and ridiculously clever, but can be a bit stubborn, sometimes, especially when her pride is on the line.

Grover Underwood
Grover is a satyr—someone with the upper body of a human and the lower body of a goat—as well as a Chosen of Pan. He helped find and ID Percy and Annabeth before they knew they were demigods. He’s a gentle, softhearted, and reliable friend, but he can sometimes struggle with his own confidence and can be a bit clumsy. But that’s exactly why his friends love him! He’s humble, easy to be around, and won’t ever let you down when you need him.
