    • Once the installer has downloaded, navigate to its download location, double-click it, and go through the installation wizard to set it up.
  2. 2
Open the Google Drive for Desktop app. If it's the first time you're opening this app, you'll have to go through the first-time user experience, as well as sign in. If you've opened the app before and you're already signed in, skip to the next step.
    • During the first-time user setup, you'll be asked if you want to sync folders or photos with Google Drive. You can choose to do so, or you can click the Skip button.

Typically, this is in the "My Drive" section, but you can go to any location you have access to in Drive.
  7. 7
Paste the file(s)/folder(s). To do this, press Ctrl+V (Windows)/ Cmd+V (Mac). You'll see the file(s)/folder(s) get added to the Google Drive folder, and if you have the Google Drive for Desktop app still open, you'll see that your files are currently syncing.[4]
